Off to Omaha

I generally hate to travel for work.

It’s exhausting, and I miss my kids. It also puts 100% of the child care burden on my lovely wife.

So I generally don’t travel.

But occasionally, I make an exception.

This week is one of those exceptions.

And I couldn’t be more excited.

Tomorrow I’m off to Omaha for the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting.

Why am I going?

I have to see the greatest investor of all time, Warren Buffett, in the flesh, while I have the chance. I really wish I went last year because I would have loved to have seen Charlie Munger at his side.

Charlie’s unfortunate passing is a reminder that Warren is not going to be around forever.

The other reason I’m excited to go is because many of my “online friends” will be there.

I interact with a ton of other investors over email and X, but rarely have a chance to actually meet them and talk stocks in person.

This weekend will be an excellent opportunity to change that.

Who am I excited to see?

Asif Suria who runs InsideArbitrage.

Dr. Ridgewell who I know from X and has shared good ideas with me.

Clark Square Value who also specializes in special situation stocks.

Christian Ryther who runs Curreen Capital, a fund focused on special situations and spin-offs.

And you!

If you are going to make the trip out to Omaha, I would love to connect.

My general agenda is as follows:

If you are going to be in Omaha this week, let me know!
